Clean-up and Create Art Competition

The Competition – extended to October 2020

This art competition is administered by South Downs National Park Trust in partnership with Sussex Green Living on behalf of the Boltini Trust.

Clean-up and Create has been designed to provide a platform for raising awareness of the problems and solutions of the environment and littering amongst youngsters whilst engaging them in a fun and creative way.

The competition will be open to all schools, uniformed groups and individuals in Hampshire and Sussex with entrants being between 5 and 16 years of age.

The 2 main competition categories are:

  • An eco-art sculpture – must be made of litter or unwanted waste resources – no size limit.
  • A poster – may include waste resources but this is not a requirement – no size limit.

The 2 entry types are further broken down into 9 sub-categories:

  • Key stage 1
  • Key stage 2
  • Primary school collaboration (cross-age groups such as the eco-council or whole school submissions)
  • Key stage 3
  • Key stage 4
  • Secondary school collaboration (cross age groups such as the eco-council or whole school submissions)
  • Individual submissions
  • Uniformed groups including scouts, girl guides, army, sea and air cadets under 17 years old.
  • Family entry

Prizes and Closing Date – extended to 30th October 2020

17 x prizes of £150 will be allocated to each of the above 8 categories for both a sculpture and poster.

The competition will close at 12 noon on Friday the 30th October 2020.

Terms and conditions

The full terms and conditions can be found in this document  – please ensure that you read them carefully before considering whether you would like to enter the competition.

Some key points to note are:

  • Competition entries in the form of photographs and a completed entry form should be emailed to mark.rose@southdownstrust.org.uk by 12 noon on Friday 30th October 2020.
  • Individual entries must be supported by a parent or guardian who will be awarded the prize money to allocate at their discretion. Otherwise prize money will be awarded to schools/uniformed groups who can allocate it at their discretion.
  • The decision of the judges will be final and no correspondence challenging the decisions will be entered into.
